Beth Rodriguez began her dance training at the University of Louisville Dance Academy. She later went on to receive her Bachelors in Dance under scholarship from Ball State University and recently graduated with honors from New York University, receiving her Masters in Dance Education.
Beth worked in NYC for nearly a decade, where she worked with various emerging choreographers, including Lexington Dance Collective, Beth Portnoy, Elizabeth Reynolds and M. Lindsey Smith. Beth has also worked with noted artists such as Sarah Skaggs, Caroline Liadakis/Chet Walker 8&a1 Productions, Orquidea Dance/ Kimberly Hope Jewart, Elizabeth Eastman, Courtney Drasner, Deborah Damast, Katiti King and Jana Hicks.
Beth began showing work in 2003/04, creating work for Orquidea Dance as a
part of "Divergence" at Williamsburg Arts Nexus. Since then her work has
been shown at Dixon Place, BRIC, chashama, The Merce Cunningham Studio, and Brooklyn
Arts Exchange in NYC. Her Louisville debut took place with Moving Collective
in January, 2007. Beth is also an arts educator. She has taught within
outreach settings as a faculty member of Groove With Me in Harlem, has
instructed special needs populations as an Independent Contractor with
Hospital Audiences, was dance faculty at the Elisabeth Morrow School in
Englewood, NJ, and most recently was adjunct faculty at Indiana University
Bloomington. She has also offered master classes as a part of
International Modern Dance Festivals in Poland, Belarus, and St. Petersburg,
Russia.
Beth continues her work in Louisville, teaching adult classes and producing choreographic works through beth rodriguez dance projects.
